It really depends on the contract you have in place with your client. While most companies have no problem allowing you to use work in your portfolio (because it’s simply there to show what you can do), others have really strict usage and non-disclosure policies.

When in doubt, ask your client for permission, and make sure you get that permission in writing — if it’s not already included in your contract, an email is still a legally binding agreement.
